Fomdas owns 2 factories, and today's program was shoot in Hubei Fomdas Foods who is located in Yidu City, Hubei Province. Yidu city was named as "Hometown of Chinese Satsuma Mandarin Orange" by the National Agritural Bureau.


Mandarin Oranges from this area have charcteristics of thin peel, juicy and sweet. Let's experience the happiness of mandairn orange pick up with journalists of CCTV.

Originally, the journalist thought it was an easy thing to pick up mandarin oranges. When she went to Fomdas orchards, she finding that there were some small skills about it. In order to ensure the quality of every piece of canned mandarin orange, as the beginning of the production process, mandarin orange pick up must be strict controlled.


Only those soft, seedless and thin peel mandarin oranges can be raw materials of Fomdas Canned Orange.


Before production, all the size uniformity mandarin oranges will be washed in hot water with temperature of about 100℃.

The purpose of this process is to soften the peel to make it easier for the peeling process.

And the Hot Bath Process can also kill the microorganism in the skin of mandain orange from raw material pick up.

In order to maintain the integrity of every mandarin orange, Fomdas installed automatic peeling machines.

Then is the segment process. Workers use a special knife to make segments separated one piece by one piece but in good condition.

With manual work, mandarin oranges can be in good condition, but the speed could not meet the high demands. Therefore, Fomdas also installed automatic segmenting machine.

From hot bath to segmenting process, there are mandarin orange segments skins. In what way that Fomdas remove it?


Follow the steps of workers, we come to be room with nearly 20m height. There are many water tanks with 20m long, you can see mandarin orange segments without skins flowing in the tanks.

Fomdas worker introduce "we use food grade acid and alkali solutions to remove memberanes of mandarin orange, the prorcess is safe."


In order to prove the safety of this process, CCTV invited Doctor Su Donglin from Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Hunan Province. Doctor Su proved the dependability of this process again, he says, "Acid and Alkali Bath actually is a very classic process, which is widly applied and meet national food safety standards."

After all these process, production of Canned Mandarin Orange is almost finished. Here we have the last step to sterilize it.


We use Pasteurization for the sterilization process. And the seaming process with air removed and nitrogen filled, is the reason for 12 months' shelf life. With this process, our consumers can enjoy good flavors of Canned Mandarin Orange anywhere & anytime.
